Beyond the Post: How building trust through social media can support commercialization

Wed, Sep 10 | 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM
Room 126A

Session details:

As a communications tool, social media possesses tremendous power to connect people who face common challenges, regardless of geographic or economic barriers, particularly for those families affected by a rare disease. Parents, caregivers, and patients create pages and groups to find connections with other families with the same rare disease. Together they not only share lifestyle tips, talk about unmet needs, discover centers of excellence and clinical trials, and learn about potential treatments.

It is our responsibility to engage these rare disease communities in the right way: with respect, transparency, and authenticity. It’s a complex social path to navigate that requires a much different mindset when compared to traditional brand marketing approaches.

In this session, Adam Daley, Vice President of Social Media at CG Life, will join leaders in rare disease drug development and commercialization to explore social media strategies that create empathy, trust and credibility in support of commercialization.
