Showcasing the Business Impact of AI: Addressing the Unanswered Question

This session explores how we addressed a critical question raised within our organization: “Where and what are the examples of how AI investments are bringing value to the business?” Through a structured and purposeful approach, we surfaced meaningful impact examples of how AI is bringing value to our business, communicated transformative outcomes, and built a foundation for continuous storytelling. 

• The Challenge:  We encountered a pivotal question without a ready answer—identifying specific examples of AI investments creating business value. 
• The Mission:  Embarked on a six-week initiative to uncover and document examples of AI value-add from across the organization. 
• Comprehensive Discovery:  Collected use cases spanning the entire pharmaceutical value chain, showcasing AI’s impact from R&D to patient delivery. We also highlighted foundational efforts, such as building a future-ready workforce equipped to harness AI for business transformation and personal growth. 
• Sustainable Communication:  Established a quarterly publication of “DD&T Impact Examples,” a resource utilized for both internal alignment and external storytelling to demonstrate AI’s ongoing contributions.
• Outcome:  This initiative not only answered the challenging question but also laid the groundwork for a culture that recognizes and promotes AI’s value to the business. Our approach ensures the narrative is continuously updated to reflect the evolving role of AI, empowering both the enterprise and our workforce.
