Daniel Jones, Ph.D.

Bio:

Daniel Jones, PhD, is Vice President of US Medical Affairs at Apellis Pharmaceuticals. He leads a team of Medical Affairs professionals responsible for overseeing the company’s medical and scientific activities within the ophthalmology, hematology, and nephrology therapeutic areas. Danny originally joined Apellis in 2020 to lead the Global and US Medical launch strategy for Syfovre (pegcetacoplan injection). Prior to Apellis, Danny held roles of increasing responsibility in Medical Affairs at Lundbeck, Biogen, and EMD Serono, supporting product launches across a range of neurology indications. Danny completed his PhD in neuroscience at UCSF, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Duke University Medical Center, and he lives in the Boston area with his wife and four children.
