Bio:

Brian Scheckner, PharmD has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over 20 years, serving primarily in publication and medical communication leadership roles. Brian is currently Senior Director, Medical Communications, at Jazz Pharmaceuticals, as the Jazz neuroscience medical communications lead with publication and medical content creation responsibility. Brian's prior pharmaceutical industry work included positions at Shire (now Takeda) as Head of Scientific Publications – US, Wyeth (now Pfizer), and Interlink Healthcare Communications. Brian attended the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (PharmD) and Rutgers University (BS, Pharmacy). Brian has been a speaker at ISMPP, TIPPA, CBI, Medical Affairs Leadership Forum, BioPharma Nexus, and Fierce Pharma medical affairs congresses. These speaking opportunities included responsibilities as a presenter and co-lead of the Publication Steering Committee workshop at the ISMPP Annual Meeting from 2014-2018. Most recently, Brian has spoken about Plain Language Summaries (PLS) at ISMPP and Fierce Pharma. Brian served as a member of several ISMPP committees including the ISMPP U Committee (2012-2023; previous Chair and Vice-Chair of the ISMPP U Committee) and the ISMPP Standards Committee (2010-2012).
