Charles Cook

Bio:

Charles D. Cook, PhD is a senior biopharmaceutical leader with more than 20 years of experience spanning medical affairs, field medical leadership, neuroscience, rare disease, migraine, women's health, and gastroenterology. He currently serves as Senior Director and Team Leader at Pfizer, where he leads field medical teams supporting migraine and drives strategic medical affairs programs, including launch and lifecycle activities for innovative therapies.

Prior to Pfizer, Dr. Cook held leadership positions at Takeda, Biogen, and Eli Lilly, where he built and led high-performing Medical Science Liaison organizations, developed field medical strategy, launched novel therapeutics, and drove organizational transformation. Notably, he led the rapid expansion of Biogen's Alzheimer's field medical organization, hiring and onboarding 49 MSLs and six regional directors within six months.

Before entering the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Cook was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Virginia Commonwealth University, where his research focused on pain, opioid pharmacology, and behavioral neuroscience. He earned a PhD in Psychology with a concentration in Behavioral Neuroscience from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

A recognized thought leader in medical affairs, Dr. Cook is a frequent moderator, panelist, and speaker at national and international industry conferences and serves on the Pfizer US Medical Affairs Colleague Advisory Board. His expertise includes field medical excellence, strategic leadership, insights generation, organizational development, and cross-functional collaboration.
