Bio:
Courtney Ronaldo is a 20-year Merck veteran with various experiences in Investor Relations, Corporate Responsibility and Global Corporate, Product and Issues Management Communications. She currently leads a team of communicators focused on supporting the business and the manufacturing division with communications on pipeline advancements, marketed products, disease awareness and manufacturing. The human health portfolio spans oncology, vaccines and pharma (cardiometabolic, infectious diseases, anti-infectives, immunology and ophthalmology). Additionally, she provides communications counsel to C-suite and executives in research and commercial. One of her greatest joys is leading her talented team of 40 professionals and mentoring to help shape growth and development opportunities in the company.
Prior to her role in Global Communications, she spent 4 years on the Investor Relations team at Merck telling the story of the company and speaking about unmet needs, value proposition for shareholders, clinical development programs and portfolio growth drivers. She managed Merck’s external engagements with investors and analysts, including the quarterly sales and earnings calls. Prior to being on the front lines in Investor Relations, Courtney was a member of the oncology communications team responsible for launching KEYTRUDA, the first FDA approved anti-PD-1, including the groundswell of data, media and national attention from stakeholders. She played a key role in the patient and advocacy community as Merck started to establish itself as a global leader in oncology.
Courtney finds passion and energy in focusing on product launches that reach patients and where unmet needs are high and managing issues where quick action is needed. She finds value in all initiatives that highlight Merck’s purpose of saving and improving lives for patients globally.
