Deborah is a dynamic leader and a driving force behind patient-centered innovation at Boehringer Ingelheim. As Vice President of Patient Excellence, she is reshaping the way the pharmaceutical industry approaches patient engagement, ensuring that the patient voice is not only heard but embedded into every stage of development. Her leadership is helping to establish Boehringer Ingelheim as an industry pioneer in patient experience, creating tangible outcomes that improve lives across the globe.
Deborah’s career spans both clinical practice and strategic leadership, giving her a rare dual perspective in the pharmaceutical world. Starting as a clinical pharmacy specialist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, she led high-impact initiatives to improve care transitions, reduce re-admissions, and served as the lead pharmacist on the world’s first face and hand transplant. These early experiences ignited her passion for bridging the gap between patient care and pharmaceutical innovation.
At Boehringer Ingelheim, Deborah has held a variety of roles across medical, strategy and operations, market access and patient services. Her relentless pursuit of excellence and her ability to drive complex, high-stakes projects has played a pivotal role in the successful launches across the portfolio.
Deborah is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist and holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Connecticut. She serves on the Board of the American Cancer Society for Southern and Western New England, advocating for cancer research and the advancement of women in science. Recognized for her leadership and advocacy, Deborah was named Boehringer Ingelheim’s Working Mother of the Year in 2021 and received the PhRMA Working for the Cures Champion award in 2022.
