Bio:

Dominique Viel is the founder and executive director of InvisiYouth Charity, a 501c3 nonprofit organization launched in 2015. Dominique was a competitive tennis player as a teen and was unfortunately injured in training, which resulted in her dealing with an injury and neurovascular condition and subsequent connective tissue disorder that changed the trajectory of her life. She knows what it's like to work in the chronic illness space and be a patient as well. She was thrust into the world of living with a chronic illness while balancing life as a teen/young adult, and while some doctors would tell her to "wait" till they could fix my health to live her life, she knew that wasn't the best result. Thus, after graduating with BAs from Saint Joseph's University, she created InvisiYouth out of her love of philanthropy, and her passion to giving a voice for the under-supported young adult population living with all chronic illnesses and disabilities for the non-medical aspects of their lives with health struggles. Dominique wanted them to never wait for a cure/recovery to live a full life, but have tangible, downloadable resources that focused on mental wellbeing and personal development on all the facets of living a life with health struggles, so young people (13-35) could adapt to thrive and find their own voices. Now, InvisiYouth Charity's resources are downloaded in over 12 countries every month. She is a public speaker, author, family council advisory committee member for the Center of Pediatric Traumatic Stress, and the host of InvisiYouth's popular video podcast show, InvisiYouth Chat Sessions. All of this work enables Dominique to share about her journey with chronic illness, InvisiYouth's style of subtle activism, and how InvisiYouth's mission has fueled her and so many others to carve their own lane of success and joy. Dominique turned her diagnosis a spark that's reframed her passions while leading InvisiYouth for eleven years and counting.
