Bio:

Jennifer Mauer is the Head of Global Communications and Corporate Brand at Viatris, a global healthcare company launched in 2020. With more than 20 years of experience, she has built a reputation as a strategic communications leader who successfully navigates organizations through periods of start-up, crisis, growth and change. Over her career, Jennifer has demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing global communications and corporate brand organizations of various sizes and working with CEOs, Executive Teams and Boards of Directors. With experience spanning executive, corporate, financial, marketing, product, brand, policy, M&A, R&D, internal communications, and global media relations Jennifer has demonstrated an ability to accelerate business results, protect brands, enhance company reputation and engage employees.  

At Viatris, she leads the communication and corporate branding activities associated with the start-up and launch of the newly formed company. She established a global communications and corporate brand organization leveraging a data and analytics approach to decision making and has been instrumental in defining and driving organizational culture and employee experience internally, while also shaping the company’s reputation externally. 

Prior to Viatris, Jennifer was VP Head of Corporate Communications at Merck & Co., where she built a strong and robust communications function, directed cultural transformation, completed the rebranding of the 125-year-old company and played an instrumental role in supporting the building of the CEO’s personal platform focusing on healthcare disparity. 

Prior to Merck, Jennifer served in role of increasing responsibility at Bristol Myers Squibb where she led communications activities across the enterprise, including as: Associate Director of Communications, Oncology, & Immunnoscience; Director of External Communications, R&D, Financial & Strategic Transactions; Executive Director of Global Internal Communications; VP of Corporate Reputation & Employee Communications, and VP of Enterprise Transformation Communication. In 2014, Jennifer launched the company’s cornerstone employee engagement campaign “Who Are You Working For?” and Global Patient Week, which are still going strong today. 

Jennifer’s early career includes working as an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University, a Consultant for McKinsey & Co., and as a Journalist for Dow Jones & The Wall Street Journal.  

Jennifer earned a bachelor’s degree in economics & journalism from the University of Richmond, a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. 

She is a member of The Page Society and World 50 and serves on the Gala Committee of the Red Door Community.
