Matt Klein

Bio:

Matt Klein is an accomplished communications professional with a demonstrated track record of achieving desired results, building key relationships and operating with agility during times of great change and transformation, growth and prosperity.

Focused and driven for success, Klein creates succinct and comprehensive communication strategies that have consistently delivered impactful results for marketing and product campaigns, business and branding strategies, including leveraging deep media contacts and developing speeches/talking points for C-suite and executive management and providing media training. He is highly collaboratives and is adept at fostering meaningful relationships with team members and stakeholders to create and bring the best possible messages forward. He’s approachable, personable, and relied on for expertise and guidance.

Klein is currently the Head of Global Corporate Communications, Employee Engagement and Media Relations for Viatris, a global healthcare company. He’s responsible for corporate media relations, senior management and C-Suite executive communications and employee engagement. He serves as the company spokesperson and leads communications for the Executive Leadership Team.

Previously, Klein spent more than twenty years in Banking and Financial Services, most recently as the Head of Communications for the Wealth and Personal Banking, Retail and Private Banking, and Asset Management at HSBC Bank in the United States. In this capacity he led corporate media relations, senior management and C-Suite executive communications, marketing campaigns, social media and digital messages, employee communications and branding strategy. He also served as the lead communications counselor for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Management Committee.

Previously he served as the Director and Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at CIT Group, a leasing and lending company in the middle market, where he managed a large team members and a multi-million-dollar budget in the areas of strategic planning and execution of marketing and communications in support for CIT Bank, OneWest Bank, and all vertical lines of business within CIT.

He also held positions as Director of External Affairs for AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company and served as an Executive Speech Writer for New York Life Insurance Company. 

As a reliable and effective executive leader, Klein brings a vision-driven approach to decision making, strategic planning, and tactical implementation and prides himself on being an organized and dependable professional, a collaborative team player, a creative problem solver and someone that likes to roll up their sleeves and get the work done.
