Sarra is an accomplished and versatile communications leader with more than 25 years of experience transforming how pharmaceutical companies connect with their most important audiences. Sarra currently serves as the U.S. Communications Lead for the Stroke + Thrombosis franchise at Bayer, driving core business strategies in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and taking a leading role with media and advocates. Prior to Bayer, she was an Executive Director in Global Communications at Organon, rallying 10,000 employees around the company's unique vision and mission. Previously, during her 15+ years at Merck, Sarra orchestrated communications for the billion-dollar HIV, HCV and antibiotics portfolios, created the award-winning "Owning HIV" anti-stigma young influencer platform, and generating substantial top-tier and specialty media stories. A trusted advisor to C-suite executives, she has successfully navigated major pipeline and product advancements, organizational transformations, mergers, acquisitions, and issues management scenarios affecting a broad array of stakeholders. Sarra began her career at Edelman and MSL, holds a B.A. in Public Communications from American University, and completed post-baccalaureate studies at The New School.
