Terri Young

Bio:

Terri Young, PhD, RPh has a robust track record of value creation across biotech and mid-large pharma with deep experience building companies, leading successful launches of novel medicines, managing US and global P&Ls of $400M-$5B business to generate transformational growth, and executing successful fund raising and business development transactions in biotech.  

Dr. Young is currently the President and CEO of Young Bio, serving as a fractional Chief Commercial Officer and strategic advisor to young biotech companies who are seeking to ensure development of novel medicines that maximize their commercial opportunity.  

Before starting her own business, Dr. Young was the Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial and Strategy Officer at Seres Therapeutics (MCRB).  Within one month of joining this Flagship Pioneering Company, she led the rollout of a highly successful phase 3 study for Seres' lead asset, enabling a $264M capital raise and increasing the company's market capitalization to >$2.5B from ~$600M.  She also drove a successful competitive partnership process resulting in a US co-commercialization transaction with Nestle Health Sciences with $500M in up front and contingent milestone payments.  Dr. Young led launch planning and, in partnership with Nestle, rapidly exceeded financial expectations for Seres' first product launch within seven months post-approval. 

Prior to joining Seres, Dr. Young gained over 20 years of commercial and strategic leadership experience at Sage Therapeutics, Bristol Myers-Squibb, and GlaxoSmithKline.  

Dr. Young received her pharmacy degree and her PhD from the University of South Carolina.  She is a member of Women in Bio and the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association (HBA) and has served on the advisory board for the HBA.
