Bio:
Tom Zipp is currently the Head of Marketing at Halozyme Therapeutics, a revenue-generating specialty pharmaceutical company that leverages its proprietary delivery technologies to commercialize Branded drug therapies. He is responsible for creating and enabling the marketing strategies underlying the overall Commercial Portfolio in order to maximize revenue growth and achieve profitability goals for the company. Working cross-functionally, Tom defines Brand visions, strategies, and tactics to drive market-beating demand growth. He has been recognized as a Top 25 DTC Marketer of the Year by DTC Perspectives and a Brand Champion in the Men’s Health category by PM360 for his efforts.
Tom has over 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Prior to Halozyme, Tom was Head of Strategy and Brand Development and one of the Founding Members of Vygen, a start-up innovative therapeutics company. Before helping found Vygen, Tom was the Marketing Lead at Vernalis Therapeutics, a specialty pharmaceutical company that commercialized prescription cough & cold products. Tom also held a variety of Commercial roles with increasing responsibility over an 8-year span with AstraZeneca, working for blockbuster Brands such as SEROQUEL XR and BRILINTA. He started his career as a strategy consultant for biotechnology companies on the West Coast.
Tom received his M.B.A. from The Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania), where he double majored in Health Care Management and Finance. He received his B.A. in Developmental Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
