Zev Handelman

Bio:
Zev Handelman has over 20 years of experience in Biotech and is currently SVP, Head of Commercial at Day One Biopharmaceuticals. During his career, he has held various leadership positions across commercial functions. At Day One, he led the launch of the company’s first commercial asset, OJEMDA, a medicine that treats the most common type of brain tumor in children. In its first 2 years of launch – 2024 and 2025 -- OJEMDA exceeded consensus external expectations of sales performance and was ranked in the top 5 best-performing launches in the industry. Day One was subsequently acquired by Servier Pharmaceuticals in April 2026 for $2.5B.
Prior to Day One, Zev served as Vice President of Strategic Marketing at Dermira, a dermatology-focused Biotech company. In that role, he led lifecycle management, commercial business development, and commercial planning for the early and late-stage portfolio. Zev played a key role in commercial partnering for Dermira, culminating in the acquisition of Dermira by Eli Lilly in 2020 for $1.1B.
Prior to Dermira, Zev spent 14 years in the commercial organization at Genentech. In his last role there, Zev led the Oncology Pipeline Team, managing all aspects of commercial planning for the late-stage oncology portfolio. During his career at Genentech, Zev led teams across several therapeutic areas and lifecycle stages, including multiple product launches and line extensions. He spent 10 years in the Oncology Business Unit, holding roles of increasing responsibility, while also holding Commercial Director roles in the Infectious Disease and Cystic Fibrosis franchises. Zev served in multiple leadership positions in Marketing and Sales Management at Genentech, along with roles in Market Analytics and Forecasting.
Zev holds an MBA and MPH from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BA from Duke University.
