Bio:

Maria serves as the Director of Medical Communications at Exact Sciences, a pioneering company dedicated to eradicating cancer through prevention, early detection, and personalized treatment. In her role, Maria expertly elevates the scientific narrative surrounding the company’s product portfolio. She leverages a wide array of omnichannel strategies, including advisory boards, scientific congresses, and external resources utilized by field teams, to amplify the evidence base and drive impactful scientific storytelling.

With nearly 15 years of experience in Medical Affairs, Maria has built and led high-performing teams, developed innovative programs, and played pivotal roles in strategic planning, evidence generation, field team education, research initiatives, and advocacy efforts.

Before transitioning to the healthcare industry, Maria served as an Active-Duty Major in the U.S. Army and as a research scientist at the U.S. Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine (USARIEM). As a principal investigator, her research centered on accelerating skeletal muscle recovery after traumatic injury through novel pharmacological interventions.
