Flora Nanda

Head of Data & AI

Legend Biotech

Bio:

Flora Nanda leads Data & AI at Legend Biotech, where she sets the global strategy for how data, analytics and AI are used across R&D, Clinical and Commercial. Much of her attention goes to cell therapy, where the data problems are unforgiving: every dose is made for one patient, the timeline is measured in days, and traceability has to hold up to regulators every single time.

She came to Legend after seven years at Pfizer, where she was Director of AI/ML, Data and Advanced Analytics. Her work there ranged widely, trial efficacy prediction during the COVID-19 vaccine program, real-world evidence for adverse event detection, an NLP platform that supported nine R&D use cases, and the Chain of Identity and Chain of Custody blockchain systems that keep a personalized medicine tied to the person it was made for.

Flora also co-founded U2xAI, where she serves as Chief AI Product Strategist, and teaches AI/ML at Princeton. Earlier in her career she led enterprise solutions at Qualcomm, was CTO of a logistics startup, and stood up a 50-member industry blockchain consortium. She has a habit of moving into new industries and new technologies before it's obvious they'll work.
