Karissa Muñoz, Ph.D.

Bio:

Dr. Karissa J. Munoz is a Ph.D. scientist and founding team member of Immunis, Inc., where she serves as Senior Scientific Communications Manager. She leads enterprise-wide communications initiatives spanning AI-enabled strategy, scientific storytelling, media relations, digital content, clinical-trial recruitment, and external partnerships. At Immunis, Dr. Munoz has authored more than 100 press releases and accessible scientific content, directed educational and promotional video content on YouTube, developed the company’s social-media presence, and helped secure prominent speaking opportunities and industry recognition for C-suite members. She is skilled at translating complex biology into clear, mission-driven narratives for investors, scientists, patients, and the public. A National Science Foundation Research Fellow, Dr. Munoz earned her doctorate in Developmental and Cell Biology from the University of California, Irvine. Her early science-communication experience includes writing for The Loh Down on Science podcast and producing biomedical scientific content for AIVITA Biomedical.
