Bio:

William Lumpkin is Vice President of U.S. Sales at Agios Pharmaceuticals, where he leads the U.S. sales organization across the company’s rare disease portfolio and plays a key leadership role in commercial strategy, execution, and organizational development.

William brings more than 20 years of experience across the biopharmaceutical and healthcare industries, with leadership experience spanning sales, marketing, new product strategy, business development, and commercial operations. Prior to Agios, he held leadership roles at Alexion, AstraZeneca, Takeda, Shire, Baxalta, and Baxter, working across multiple therapeutic areas and stages of the product lifecycle.

Throughout his career, William has focused on building high performing teams, translating strategy into execution, and navigating complex and rapidly evolving markets. He is particularly passionate about leadership, talent development, customer centricity, and creating stronger connections between frontline insights and enterprise decision making.

William earned his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and his bachelor's degree in finance from Indiana University. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member in finance at the University of North Carolina Kenan Flagler Business School.
